Directions: Begin you luxurious foot treatment by soaking in a very warm foot bath, enhanced with the addition of minerals such as Borax, Epsom salt, baking soda, sea salts and French clay powders. Add herbs and flowers such as rose, chamomile, lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus. These will release their therapeutic scents and look beautiful floating in the water. Also add a few drops of relaxing and soothing essential oils to complete this indulgent blend.
Mix the essential oils evenly throughout the dry mixture. Dissolve the mixture in two gallons of hot water, making sure the oils are dispersed.

Ingredients 2 drops peppermint essential oil 1 drop myrrh essential oil 1 drop tea tree oil
Directions: Blend with a small amount of milk (rice, soy, dairy, hemp, almond, etc)gargle or swish in the mouth for approximately 60 seconds several times each day. Continue as necessary. Water is o.k., but the fat in the milk acts as a buffer and effectively distributes the oils

55. Rose and Lavender Facial Cream
In aromatherapy, rose oil inspires emotional calm and stability without sedative effects. The aroma is powerful and comforting. Its physical actions are mildly astringent and balancing. Rose and lavender facial cream is excellent for sensitive combination skin. Dabbed onto a freshly washed face this cream is a fragrant, toning emollient.
Ingredients 4 ounces jojoba oil 3 ounces distilled water 1/2 ounce beeswax 20 drops rose absolute or rose otto essential oil 15 drops lavender essential oil
Directions: Melt the wax in the jojoba oil using a double boiler. Add the distilled water in a thin stream while vigorously beating the mixture with a wire whisk. Remove from heat and continue whisking the oil while adding the essential oils drop by drop. Suggested variation: Make a tea of fresh rose petals and lavender flowers and use this in place of the distilled water.

56. Rose Perfume
This a simple recipe for a rose perfume. Although it calls for rose oil only, some of the drops can be replaced with other essential oils to create a distinctive personal essence.
Ingredients 3 ounces vodka 30 drops rose absolute or rose otto essential oil small funnel coffee filters empty perfume or cologne bottle
Directions: Add the oil to the vodka. Shake gently and allow the mixture to age for 2 to 3 weeks. This aging allows the alcohol to extract the aromatic constituents of the oil that are only partially soluble in the alcohol. You may notice globules of the undissolved constituents floating around in the mixture -- this is normal. After aging the mixture, chill it briefly and filter it using the funnel and a coffee filter. Let the mixture settle. If any additional globules form, chill and filter again. Repeat this process until all traces of undissolved oil are removed. At this point your personal essence is ready to use.

If possible, exfoliate the skin with unscented body polish before use. This will help slough off dead, dry skin and expose fresh, clear skin. Dry skin can impede the penetration of essential oils.
